Today presented excellent swimming conditions with a light breeze providing relatively flat water. Intermittent showers made sure we weren’t totally comfortable.

Over 50 swimmers registered today, which was a great attendance in these Covid times.

The major prize today was the 200M freestyle with Rod and Di Garland sponsoring the event.

In a result which proved genuine honest swimmers can win Judy Walshe(F) and John Hennessy(M) were victorious. Thanks to Rod and Di for providing great prizes on the day.

We also were able to celebrate Andre Picone’s 21st birthday with a lovely cake. Congratulations Andre.

Crowded conditions and a strong southerly breeze made swimming a little tricky today.

Two prize events contested were the Jim Silva/Owen Coulter wire-to-wire with swimming nominating their expected times. These prizes was sponsored by Phil Short. Winners were Lesley Woodland(F) who was 0.0 secs from her time and Jack Kirkland(M) who was 1 sec under his time.

The Picone family sponsored the prize for 50M Freestyle with the winners being closest to handicap time.

Well done to Lisa Hedge(F) who was .38sec from her time and Glen Long(M) who was .11sec from his time.

Good swimming weather today with overcast conditions, but a southerly breeze.

38 swimmers registered and the prize event of the day was the 200M Freestyle sponsored by Ian Bourke.

Paul Cavanagh was the winner of the men’s with a time .09sec from his handicap mark.

Lizzie Lodge won the women’s prize with a time 1.29 sec from her handicap.

The first 5 mens’ times were less than a second from their handicap time reflecting the good conditions.
