Preparations are well advanced for the start of our next Summer Season at Gunnamatta. The water at the bay is very clear and conditions look promising. Schedule, team rosters and relay teams have been added to the website.
2023-24 Season ready to start
Our season commences on Sunday 1st October 2023 at Gunnamatta. Looking forward to a great attendance with warm weather.
Summer Season about to start
The next Summer Season is almost upon us and preparations are well advanced. The new Committee is established and our Swim Schedule and relays etc have been published. 2nd October is our first day.
Pool conditions look great at this stage so we hope we have no nasty weather events to disrupt things.

End of Season
Final day of the Summer season had a small crowd with water conditions not the best. Today’s trophy event was the Eric Wood 400M Freestyle with the winners being closest to their time.
Congratulations to Kylie Mulholland (F) and Jack Le Breton (M).
Season pointscore was finalised with Corinne Pye taking out the overall pointscore award. Congratulations to Corinne on consistent swimming throughout the season. Well Done.
We also had our 2 swimmers (John and Steve) posing with their Australian Masters Swimming Championship medals on display around their neck. We also post a great shot of Steve Murray during one of his swims at the Masters.
Thanks to everyone for your patience during a very unusual season. On to our more social winter program off the beach at Cronulla at 9.00am.




AIF Carnival 19th March
Congratulations to the Cronulla RSL Swimming Club competitors who competed at the 86th AIF (Australian Imperial Force) Carnival in Coffs Harbour. The club had a great carnival finishing 5th on the overall point score.

John Hennessy – 1st 70-74 freestyle and 3rd in over 60 backstroke
Gordon Williams – 2nd 80-84 freestyle

20th Feb
Magnificent conditions today with plenty of sun and no breeze to contend with.
There was a stingray who kept trying to join in the races, but he finally gave up and found some new friends.
Prize event of the day was the Dave Dopson 50M Freestyle with the winners being closest to their handicap time.
Congratulations to Kylie Mulholland(F) and Glen Long(M) who were the winners on the day.

23rd January
Today presented excellent swimming conditions with a light breeze providing relatively flat water. Intermittent showers made sure we weren’t totally comfortable.
Over 50 swimmers registered today, which was a great attendance in these Covid times.
The major prize today was the 200M freestyle with Rod and Di Garland sponsoring the event.
In a result which proved genuine honest swimmers can win Judy Walshe(F) and John Hennessy(M) were victorious. Thanks to Rod and Di for providing great prizes on the day.
We also were able to celebrate Andre Picone’s 21st birthday with a lovely cake. Congratulations Andre.


16th Jan
Crowded conditions and a strong southerly breeze made swimming a little tricky today.
Two prize events contested were the Jim Silva/Owen Coulter wire-to-wire with swimming nominating their expected times. These prizes was sponsored by Phil Short. Winners were Lesley Woodland(F) who was 0.0 secs from her time and Jack Kirkland(M) who was 1 sec under his time.
The Picone family sponsored the prize for 50M Freestyle with the winners being closest to handicap time.
Well done to Lisa Hedge(F) who was .38sec from her time and Glen Long(M) who was .11sec from his time.


9th January
Good swimming weather today with overcast conditions, but a southerly breeze.
38 swimmers registered and the prize event of the day was the 200M Freestyle sponsored by Ian Bourke.
Paul Cavanagh was the winner of the men’s with a time .09sec from his handicap mark.
Lizzie Lodge won the women’s prize with a time 1.29 sec from her handicap.
The first 5 mens’ times were less than a second from their handicap time reflecting the good conditions.

Our Club turns 71
Our swimming club is 71 years old on 24th December.
To celebrate this occasion the Cronulla RSL Memorial Club has produced a short video which provides an insight to the club and its character.
